Manila, Philippines – Local government units (LGUs) reporting squatting syndicates and professional squatters will receive prizes through the National Drive Against Professional Squatters and Squatting Syndicates (NDAPSSS), Vice President Jejomar C. Binay said yesterday.
Binay said they will be awarded for their efforts through the NDAPSSS Best Practices Award for this year meant to draw the active participation of LGUs in the government’s anti-squatting campaign.
“It is the LGUs who can immediately identify and stop these criminal elements at the first sign of illegal activity,” Binay, chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), said in a statement.
